We must confess that no matter how much we love silicon alloys, holograms or virtual life, we feel an obscure attraction for any beautiful object capable of being piled up. Record sleeves, VHS film cases, mysterious boxes, Meccano pieces, plans for secret projects or magazines on the Cold War. Anything goes.

The image stock of Bookshelf Porn, a project created in 2009 by Anthony Dever which gathers photos of bookshelves found on the Internet, gives us our daily dose of visual catharsis. We cannot think of many things more thrilling, aesthetic and hopeful than a good collection of well organized books.

For some time now we have fallen to the temptation of classifying our bookshelves by colours. And since then, the world seems a prettier place.
