13 LOMO: win a La Sardina camera

By Teresa de Andrés. April 23, 2012

We are giving away a great La Sardina Cubic with flash to one of our readers!*

We have always felt a strange pleasure when we imagine that Lomo cameras hide fantastic stories about spies that came out of the ice. For the origins of the popular photography community go back to 1982, when in an office of the LOMO Arms and Optical factory in St. Petersburg two soviet comrades were instructed to copy and improve the design of the Japanese camera Cosina CX-1. So the LOMO LC-A was born –the alpha of all omegas. For its first few years it was only used in the communist satellite countries, but in the early nineties a group of Viennese students found one while they rummaged through the knick-knack of a shop in Prague. The desired LOMO LC-A landed at last on this side of the world and since that day Lomography hasn’t stopped producing re-editions of relics and inventing new cameras that delight millions of photographers.

To whet your appetite, we present a selection of our favourite 13 Lomo cameras. If you want to enter the draw for the fancy and fun La Sardina, which has been bringing happiness to our homes since June 2011, you only have to follow the instructions below. Who knows, maybe future will be analogue, as the Lomography comrades say.

* If you live in Spain and you want to enter the draw you only have to register in visualMAG, subscribe to our newsletter and leave a comment in this article finishing the following sentence: “I want to win a La Sardina camera because…” You will be able to participate until the 18th of May.
