Maps are born from a dark and secret determination to control the uncontrollable, to know and master the ungovernable. I imagine how the first cartographers must felt when maps were only half-drawn and the world didn’t end after crossing the curved line of the horizon. Although the greatness continues, we still feel obliged to shape the territory, labelling it in the form of maps, frontiers, scales and legends.
Here are thirteen splendid maps especially thought for lunatic cartographers, explorers of the useless.
